Digital Floral Woodcuts

The process I employ in the computer darkroom does not involve heavy plates, long exposure times, nor toxic chemicals. However, as with the early pioneers, the final image is a function of light, tone and composition.

E-mail Time Less Image

Queenstown, New Zealand and Cholula, Mexico

Welcome

Welcome and thank you for your interest in Time-less-image. We have been in business since 2004. Time-less-image offers the public unique and affordable fine art note cards, Christmas, holiday and greeting cards and fine art prints. If my virtual store/office had a sign outside it would read: "At Time-less-image we continue to seek exquisite beauty in our images, exploring all techniques, old and new". It sounds nice, if a little formal, but it's true. I'm still chasing the perfect light, and looking for ways to translate that magic moment onto paper. The tools keep getting better. I can only hope to some day master a technique that "mirrors the truth". We will be adding content and extra features over the next few weeks, (honestly!) so come back regularly. The bulk of the porfolio consists of photographs and graphic art. The images were mostly taken in Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Mexico and the United States. Some of my favotite cities are Florence, Venice and Siena in Italy and Oaxaca and Cholula in Mexico. When you visit them you truly step back in time.

You can contact us at: jegan414@comcast.net  or by phone (Skype Me, it is a virtual world!). You will find the Skype link at the bottom of the navigation boxes on the left side of every page on this site. Skype generally works well. Calls to regular phones are "free" until end of year!. I just signed up for their voice mail.

The Welcome Pictures

The first was taken on New Year's Eve in Queenstown, New Zealand. The town follows the shores of Lake Wakatipu - a deep blue pool of pure mountain water. Framing the picture is The Remarkables range with its purple-brown peaks topped with snow. Swathes of green decorate the area between town and mountain top. Queenstown was named because ‘...it was fit for Queen Victoria."

The second is a typical evening on the Zócalo of Cholula. Zócalo is a Spanish term for a town square or town center. It's where social and business transactions take place. A city's zócalo is often surrounded by shops and you will find a flag and usually a statue in the center of the square. Cholula is a few hours drive south from Mexico City. Cholula is a very small town that happens to be near a large University frequented by many students from around the world. Quite a few US college students have learned their Spanish, and developed a taste for Tequila in Cholula.

Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Coffee Lover's Paradise

Portsmouth is considered a "Coffee Lover's Paradise". Those visiting from the Pacific Northwest still break out in a cold sweat until they get their bearings. Yes, there's a Starbucks, and plenty of Dunkin Donut Shops and drive throughs. However, the center of town, the Nexus if you will, is a coffee shop, but it is not a Starbucks. Actually two coffee shops compete for this title. One harbors back to the warm, comfy feeling of the sixties. Whenever I walk in I keep expecting to meet someone from my college days. My niece feels very much at home in the second shop. It's where she will meet friends from her college days.

The owner of our local sandwich shop recently passed away. He had just turned 90. He had been making his "subs" almost just as long. He will be missed.

During a recent storm the scaffolding around the town steeple (the construction was the highlight of my trips downtown) came crashing down. Market Square was closed down for a while. I received a large pullout spread the other day with my newspaper requesting donations for the steeple fund,

My coffee shop (the sixties theme) was in danger of being evicted when the property was put up for sale. The community rallied so that the shop could stay. Quotes from a local paper:

"This is like my living room,""It’s where I get all my information and network. It’s definitely my home away from home."

"It's been a hub for local people," he said.

Yazgan said his shop is so homey that it has nurtured romances and even marriages. "You can find a girlfriend ... or get married," he said.

Unfortunately the shop (my coffee shop) is moving, not far, but in a world where walking a mile is only done in sweat pants and sneakers (the daily workout for some) it might change my loyalties. Sure I'll have to sell a lot of pictures to afford the "change from your $5.00 expresso", and I'm not married to chocolate chip cookies. I think I can learn to like lemon tarts (or is it torts). Does anyone really eat scones? And are they a breakfast item? Muffins I understand, English or otherwise.

The Portfolio

"Momma, they took away my coffee and now they're digging up my back yard!"

In light of the above news, I am more determined to spend more time photographing the New Hampshire seacoast, all 25 miles of it. I just read that the University of New Hampshire wants to build a 25,000 square foot reseach center on Odiorne Point - a gem of a state park and a favorite waypoint on my bike rides.

Sure, I want to go back to Siena, Venice, Florence or Puebla. I can't wait to go back to Moab for some spring mountain bike riding. But:

"Momma, they took away my coffee and now they're digging up my back yard!"

If there's not a song with that refrain, someone needs to write it.

"Why do you have so many images on Rowing and Sculling ?"

My sister in law competes as a Masters Rower. She rows sweeps and tries to get some sculling in when she can. You may notice my brother and I at rowing events. We are the two guys with cameras, tripods and bicycles. When not getting in everyone's way, we will be cheering for CRI (Community Rowing). We will be screaming "Go CRI". Stop by and say hello. When not screaming for CRI , we'll cheer for your club too! According to the website, CRI was the first public rowing club in Massachusetts, and remains one of the largest in the United States. Their fans are very vocal. At The Head of the Charles or at the Masters Nationals, "Go CRI" is a familiar refrain. When I first started following the sport, I though it was just a general cheer, unique to the sport of rowing... like "Go Team" or the "wave". It took me a while to realize it was my sister in law's club.

In the meantime enjoy the site. Stop by my Ebay Store Time-Less-Image where you will find a large selection of photographs and photorealistic art featuring the Head of the Charles Regatta, the Dad Vail Regatta, the IRA Nationals and the Masters National Rowing Regatta. We have you covered whether you are a sweep rower or sculler. Any requests, questions or comments, I am an email or Skype call away.
